Questions and answers

What does ChessTenders do?
It turns your own chess games into training. Connect your Lichess or Chess.com account, and every tactic you missed in a real game comes back as a puzzle: the same position, from your side, until the pattern sticks.
How does the puzzle scan work?
Stockfish goes through your recent games move by move. Wherever you had a winning tactic and did not play it, the position is saved as a puzzle. You get the board as it was, and you have to find the move you missed.
Is ChessTenders free?
Yes. The puzzles, the daily puzzle, the analysis board, game review and playing against the computer are free, and most of it works without an account. An account keeps your rating, your scanned puzzles and your progress.
Do I need a Lichess or Chess.com account?
Only for the scan, which reads the games you played there. Everything else stands on its own: 500,000+ rated puzzles, the daily puzzle, the analysis board and bots from 400 to 2800.
How does the game review work?
Paste a PGN or pick one of your recent games. Every move is classified, from Big brain move to blunder, with an accuracy score for both sides and an eval graph. Afterwards your mistakes come back as positions to solve, so a review ends in training, not just a verdict.
Where do the puzzles and their ratings come from?
The 500,000+ puzzles come from real games on Lichess, each with a rating earned from the people who solved it. Your own puzzle rating moves with every attempt, and the trainer picks the next puzzle around your level.
